Lessons from a Cave

My friend and I took a tour in the Desoto Cavern in Alabama.  As we went into the mouth of the cave it felt like air conditioner had burst into the air as the temperature dropped 10 degrees. When we reached the bottom of the cave it was half the size of a football field.  Amazing to see another world lying under the earth with streams of rippling water winding through the cavern and mammoth steatite like draped tapestry hung throughout the ceiling.  After we had walked around the cavern the guides ask us to sit down an experience a cave without lights.   As the flood lights were turned off- total darkness filled the air.  And We were asked – to look at our hand – You could see nothing- not even the person sitting beside you.  The lights stayed off for about a minute – So strange not to see.  A moment later the lights were turned back on and the tour guide shared…if a person does not get light to his eyes for 48 hours straight – they will become totally blind forever.  It was shocking to hear that without light the eyes would permanently go blind.

What a shocking thought – blindness comes to our eyes from not seeing light.

Hearing this – realized our lives are so paralleled.  Sin brings darkness to our souls and blinds us.  And until LIGHT is in our lives- we cannot see clearly- GOD IS LIGHT AND HIS WORD is light’  

May we…. Spend time in His presence’ – saturating ourselves- with Him and in His Word – so that our minds & our hearts are given great light- directing our path.  His Spirit and His Word helps us uncovers hidden sins- Then we can repent and be healed – becoming set free from the powers of darkness.

“Your word is a light unto my path.”    Ps 119:105

“I treasure your word in my heart, so that I won’t sin against you.”  Psalms 119:11

“For you, my God, light my lamp, my God, lights up my darkness.  Psalms 18:28

Lessons from driving a car

One day it occurred to me – the way I drive my car – could possibly reveal the sin that is driving me.  Amazing what happens to us once we get under the wheel of a car – it seems to uncover the deeper places our soul.  

Does driving reveal the inside of our drive shaft?

Kind people are kind while driving…Merciful people are merciful while driving…Patient people are patient while driving……  Thoughtful people are thoughtful while driving……  Self-controlled people are self-controlled while driving.  Humble people are humble while driving……  

Selfish people are selfish while driving. … Critical people are critical while driving…Impatient people are impatient while driving……  Arrogant people are arrogant while driving……  Prideful people are prideful while driving……

Driving does reveal us!

I’ll be watching the way I drive…Daily discovering the attitudes that are coming from under the hood of my car and asking my Father to remove the fleshly parts and replace them with His Spirit. Guaranteed a smoother ride if you will allow the oil of the Holy Spirit to cover your damaged parts.

Lessons from a candle

Tonight, before friends came over I put several different candles around each table.  As the night began we lit the candles.  It was quite eye opening to see the candles sitting low to the table really didn’t help bring much light while the candles that were taller reached out further removing the darkness around us – it seemed to be the taller the candle – the greater the expanse of light.  

Our lives are like candles- Being light- Bringing light- In the stores- at the parks- standing in line- in the highways and byways.  

Is our light close to the table or are we standing – loving- un-ashamed– of His story – sharing- giving- light?

Lessons from a bird risking his life

Today, as I was driving on a major highway saw a spot ahead on the road.  As I came closer noticed a bird flapping its wings- above a wounded bird. His talons reaching out trying to pick up the wounded bird. Against All Odds as the cars passed 60 miles an hour- he fearlessly tried to raise the bird off the road.

My heart sank as I passed by knowing he would possibly get hit- It was as if…the cars never even existed – Putting himself in the middle of a speedway.

What a lesson seeing this selfless act. Creation demonstrating The Father’s Love/Heart.…Creation follow Your ways –

Greater love has no one than to lay down his life for another.  John 15:13

Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. Luke 6:31

Lessons from a banana plant 

This spring we worked around the outside of the deck painting where the banana plants were coming up. We tried very hard not to step on the new plants that were coming up but there were those that were under the straw. Some of them got really crushed by our shoes. When I saw them I thought to myself they were destroyed and their leaves were so damaged. Several months have passed and I thought I need to see what has become of these crushed plants. As I looked I discovered they are not crushed anymore they are just as beautiful as the other banana plants beside them…….what happened. I wrote them off as totally damaged………. But GOD.

My lesson from this banana plant is to never give up on our loved ones who have been damaged in life. Even though people and situations have crushed them. Whatever the injury, remember with Jesus there is always hope and new life and growth!!! 

Our Father dearly loves them. His words are life and will change them. Trust Him to heal the wounded places in your loved ones. Pray each new day for them to grow towards the sun-His SON. Asking God to help your loved ones forgive those who have crushed them and bless those who persecute them. Day after day trust Our good Father to repair, restore and rebuild them!!! Soon you will look around and see the damage is gone and new growth has taken place !

Isaiah 61:1-4 “The spirit of the Lord God is upon me because the Lord has anointed me to preach the good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted to proclaim liberty to the captives and freedom to the prisoners….To comfort all who mourn…To give them a crown of beauty instead of ashes the oil of joy for mourning and a garment of praise for spirit of despair so they will be called oaks of righteousness the planting of the Lord that he may be glorified they will rebuild the ancient ruins they will restore the place is long devastated they will renew the ruins cities of desolation of many generations.”

Lessons from the sun on young grapes

Grapes are DeliCioUS ! but they don’t begin that way. If you touch a young grape you will discover they are very firm and if you bite down upon it – your mouth will pucker from the sourness inside.

While these young grapes hang on the vine from sunrise till sunset something happens…as the warm rays from the sun touches them; the hardness- softens and the tartness becomes sweet. The acidity once inside changes to sweetness this process also changes the outside skin from green to burgundy, black and even yellow….their true colors begin emerging. Amazing how…. this once uneatable fruit becomes delicious!  

When Jesus came into our lives we were full of selfishness and O so tart. Then Gods Holy Spirit came drew us to Himself. As Jesus’s warm rays of light shine upon us – through His Spirit/Word…His Love changes our acidity to sweet and our hardness becomes tender.  Day after day as we allow His light to touch us we are changed becoming who we were created to be !

“In Him was life, and that life was the light of men the light shines in the darkness and the darkness has not overcome it.” John 1:4-5

“Once your life was full of sin’s darkness, but now you have the very light of the Lord shining through you because of your union with Him. Your mission is to live as children flooded with His revelation-light! And the supernatural fruits of His light will be seen in you-goodness, righteousness, and truth. Lessons from the earth turning toward the Sun

Today I thanked God for the morning sunlight that faithfully comes each day. I realized, as I was saying this…I have taken this beautiful sunlight for granite.

So I thought ? What happens to create each morning? In My discovery I learned… that as the earth turns and turns (rotates) towards the sun….after 23 hours and 56 minutes …..a new morning appears.

How I love the fresh crisp air…the morning dew that sits upon the leaves and soft pedals glistening. LIFE!!! And the sun makes this possible !

Our beings are earths- as the physical earth needs light so does ours.

May our earth, our being, CONTINUALLY TURN towards YOU/Jesus.  Allowing Your aluminous light to cover us with Your rays of love. Bringing warmth and healing to our wounded lands. Restoration light, healing us and bringing our lands to beauty ! Isaiah 61

“This is how much God loved the world, He gave His one and only unique Son as a gift. So now everyone who believes in Him will never perish but experience everlasting life.” John 3:16 TPT

May we share – this Good News!!! A New Day has come! Jesus is “… the light of the world.” John 9:5.

Lessons from Honeybees

 

After the young lady bagged my groceries, she asked if she could help me to my car. As she was putting the groceries in the trunk, I noticed a necklace around her neck with the star of David.  I then asked, if she believed in a Messiah.   She said, “No, she didn’t believe in a messiah or god. She then shared – before her father passed away he told her that nature would reveal to her who God is.

I asked her if she had ever heard about a man named Jesus/Yeshua his name in Hebrew -born in Israel. She said “no’. I shared about his life touching blind eyes and they received sight ! When Deaf ears were touched they heard!  The lame walked and danced. And dead men came back to life! As he walked in Israel he claimed to be God because of this they crucified him. He was buried that evening but three days later rose from the grave. After that he was seen by over 500 people for 40 days. (Historically proven)

As I was talking something kept flying around her and then another flying insect came.  I didn’t think much about it but then another one came so I stopped talking and looked closely at what was flying around her shoulders and head- honeybees, three honeybees. 

So, I said to her “are you noticing something flying around your head?” She said “yes, what is it?” “Honeybees are flying around you.” I said. “Did your father tell you nature would reveal who God is?” She answered “yes” She asked, “What do you think they’re trying to tell me?” “I believe they came because you are looking for a sign from nature.” She asked again, “What do you think they’re trying to tell me?”  I told her, “I think they were drawn because of Jesus story being told. Your father told you nature would reveal who God is.. The honeybees were telling you, Jesus is God The Honey to the earth.”

“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.” Genesis 1:1

“For by Him (Jesus) all things were created both in the heavens and on the earth visible and invisible whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities – all things have been created through Him and for Him.” Colossians 1:16

Lessons from Rain On Different Soils “Dedicated to my son Daniel”

As I was listening to the rain this morning my mind began going to different lands the rain was touching. First I saw rain pouring upon white cement and running off. Then I saw the rain pour down upon a pile of rocks and it could not saturate the soil. Next, saw a large field of open soil the rains came creating a field of flowers blooming with vibrant colors. 

Realizing these lands represented our lives my mind quickly saw different soils/souls- Seeing difficulties of trauma, hardness, rejection and abandonment had brought these land much hardness like cement and rocks upon their soils/souls. Day after day the refreshing rains still came it couldn’t reach into their soil/soul.  While the other land I saw with wide open fields I understood it had no blockages seeing flourishing beauty!

Looking back didn’t think I needed any help…..I had concluded “this is just little old me” or another way to say it ” this is just my personality”. Now after much digging and moving boulders….understanding the terrain in which I lived…Life had been a war zone, traumatizing, hard. Not fully understanding the extent of my damage soul – Until – through a series of difficulties my youngest son practically begged me to get help… scared of the unknown….I finally reached out. Starting with a therapist/counselor and after a while of getting over myself- it was actually a gift to finally tell my story- for someone to listen, hear and affirm emotions, the difficulty’s and the traumatization. It didn’t stop there, I finally left Couseling in search of going deeper -I cried out to God one day ” Help me Lord, I don’t know how to get there”. Later, realized, I was only touching the surface telling my story….I need a huge caterpillar digger- to go deep – Uprooting lies, wrong beliefs, hatred, un-forgivenss, judgement and vows I had against God, myself and others. The faithfulness of God!!! He did bring me someone who went deeper, uncovering lies, exposing falsehood about myself and God. Then giving me new eyes/perspective to see others differently. As I continued going to wounded places- places that triggers us with a trusted friend my soul experienced freedom and healing. Through out the years God brought A Prayer/Deliverance team And others- a proven friend/friends through this journey to walk this together! Break through is occurring- Believing Gods Absolutely Good Heart. So thankful, for my son loving me, truthING me- grateful I went to these fearful places that had smothered my soul/soil. Thank you, ADONIA for Navigate me through these rough waters, for calming my seas’ and bringing light into dark places.

Now forever thankful to be in a place I was actually running from.  Allowing a plow into my soil…uncovering, breaking up hard places, removing boulders and vines that were choking my soul/soil.  Someday soon, it’s actually already happening my soul is experiencing rain.

Lessons: The Seed inside a soul/soil

While listening to the radio today I heard Tony Evans say, “Acorns always produces oak trees and apple seeds always produces apple trees.  Seeds will become what they were created for.  The seed is not the problem… it’s the soil… the seed is lying in. (My heart heard this clearly- the seed is NOT the problem)- The seed is God’s Word, it’s always going to produce life! The problem is where the seed is lying?”  

My mind began to realize….The seed is not the problem….“it’s my soul…the damage is inside my soul.”  This simple truth was strong while bringing a ray of hope and answer to my heart.

Understanding- Each of us are like gardens and within each garden lie different types of soils. Our souls have received good and bad experiences – truth and lies. Even Words spoken Over Us brought life or death went into our soul. From these life experiences many souls/soils have received boulders and vines that block and choke their land.

So what happens to these souls in difficult times? Are they able to stand strong? Do we believe God is with us in and through the trials? Well, for me the minute a storm hit – the winds flipped me over like a sailboat without any weight in its ballast – I couldn’t stay right side up as hard as I tried.  After many years of becoming storm weary – I began questioning my faith. My thoughts spoke loudly “THIS ISN’T WORKING ! this isn’t working – GOD !

I began questioning God.  Landslides of disbeliefs flooded my soul no matter how hard I tried, how hard I prayed, read my bible or went to church. Evidence of my inner being showed up when the storms of life hit….. I JUST COULDN’T STAY ABOVE WATER.

Now I know- it wasn’t God Word or His Seed that failed…the problem was lying deep inside of me.…deep inside my soul. My lack of belief and trust was no surprise to God.  He knew what I lived through.  He knew there would come a day where my faith was challenged and my soul would need to be turned upside down in order to find right side up.  

He was waiting for this day to come and I would see that God was with me through it all.  He was there when I was abused.  He was there while I was scared.  He was there when I could not swim and thought “THIS IS MY LAST BREATH”. He was there when I didn’t feel it – HE WAS THERE !!! and the enemy has worked over time lying and falsely accusing God. One day God will destroyed the enemy of our soul.  Until that time may we take every thought captive and make it bow to a good Fathers heart.

May we come to experience Gods abounding love– 1 Corinthians 13, 1 John 4:10
